Deep Roots Valley Farm is a small family owned, fifth generation, regenerative, grassfed, and pasture based farm and kitchen in Berks County, PA. We have 150 acres of pasture where we raise over 120 head of grassfed cattle and 1,500 pastured laying hens. We also raise smaller numbers of pastured broiler chickens, and pigs! In addition to grassfed and pastured meats and eggs, we have an on farm commercial kitchen where we use our products plus local and organic ingredients to create delicious prepared foods and ready to eat lunch and breakfast for farmers market sales. We are a husband and wife team and are just getting too busy to do it all ourselves as our farm grows!
We believe in nourishing our bodies with good food and good work! We want to provide the highest quality meats, eggs, and meals for our customers and leave our little piece of this earth a better place for the next generation!

JOB DESCRIPTION
Our kitchen is a small, usually one or two person operation! We cook large batch freezer meals, and small handheld biscuit breakfast sandwiches and savory hand pies for reheating and serving at farmers markets. We have recently expanded from one to two Saturday farmers markets and are doubling our production!
We are looking for part time help on Tuesdays through Fridays. We love creating clean food from our farm and supporting other local farmers and small businesses as well! If working on a small farm and baking and cooking sound fun to you, please let us know!

Responsibilities will include:
Chopping veggies, prepping/cooking meats, shredding cheeses, making from scratch biscuits. Assembling hand pies, pot pies, biscuit breakfast sandwiches, freezer meals, soups, and broths. Some dishwashing and light end of shift cleaning will also be part of the job.
Perks included: free prepared foods, and pastured eggs!

If cooking isn’t your thing, we also have part time farm hand positions open!
Tasks will include: feeding chickens and pigs, collecting and washing/boxing eggs, working with cattle, maintenance, light landscaping work, and possibly even helping at farmers markets. Hours would include weekends. farm, equipment, and animal husbandry experience is a plus, but not required. Perks include free pastured eggs and prepared foods!
